Safe Haven

As you are aware, the District wants all NUSD students to know they are safe and welcome, so the Board of Trustees has declared the district a safe haven committed to acting within legal bounds to protect students and families threatened by hate crimes or deportation based on immigration status. You may view more information, including Board Resolution No. 17-04 recognizing NUSD as a Safe Haven School District, which was passed unanimously on February 8, 2017, on the District's website.

In addition to the mandated trainings described above, all staff are required to complete a training on how to implement Board Resolution No. 17-04. The video, approximately 3 minutes in length, will be uploaded to the MyNUSDPortal by the end of this week for all staff to access.
